Hummingbirds – Summer’s wildlife movie

Every year, we get visits from hummingbirds. We have a feeder plus some hummingbird “crack” – agastache, trumpet vine, and salvia. This summer, we seem to have several different hummingbird visitors – the squeaky one, the quiet one that sits, and the quiet one that doesn’t sit. In 2011, it was just Red (the red one) and Bob (the green one).
The quiet one that doesn’t sit likes to drink from our fountain on the deck. Last weekend, I looked up and he was looking at me from a foot away before he buzzed away.
One day when I was working from home, the hummingbird sat atop of my weeping cherry. I couldn’t figure out was he was doing until I got a photo.
I saw his tongue!
